How good is your memory?

If you had to memorize a single book or risk its extinction, which book would you choose and why?

It would be very hard and be a very long process, but I would probably memorize the Bible. It is definately most important to me and would be something I could recite to other people, which is supposed to be my main goal in life. The bible is all of OUR history combined into one book, telling us right from wrong and good from evil. By memorizing the Bible, it would give me more knowledge and a bigger heart to spread the word of God.

I mean really not many people just want to go out and memorize a book, but if i had to choose one, i'd choose the bible. It's a book that teaches you something. It has meaning to it, it's real. The bible has history, it has the present and it has the future, it helps us through life. Every page and every word is valuable information.

If i had to memorize a book i would probably memorize the Hatchet. It's a great book about a kid who gets in a plane crash and has to live by himself, make his own shelter, and find his own food until he is finally rescued.

Where The Red Fern Grows is one of the best books that I have ever read. It was a really good book. I could not stop reading it until I had finished the book. It taught me many life lessons such as never leave your friends behind. Where The Red Fern Grows will go down in history as one of the best books of all time.

A book that I would write about is the Bible. It is very distant and complicated that it would be tough to memorize it. After I was done though I would feel extremely dignified with myself. The Bible is an exceedingly important book that has everything from why we are still here today and right from wrong to how to live out our lives in a way that is righteous and angelic and can show others how great it is. The Bible is very defined and symbolic book in my eyes and by knowing it all I would greater my knoledge of God and better able me to spread the word of God to and my love for him to others.

To Kill a Mockingbird was a wonderful book with many powerful moments. The book taught many life lessons. The story captured me and I couldn't put the book down. Atticus showed me that it's important to do the right thing, when he defended Tom Robinson. He defended a man who didn't have a who had no hope, but gave it all he had. The speech that Atticus gave was compelling and truthful. He did what was right and showed the reader what a respectable man he was. The book kept you on the edge of your seats when Jem and Dill would try to see Boo Radley. The book showed me not to judge someone, when Boo Radley saved the day at the end of the book. The book had many twist and turns, and ups and downs. I gained knowledge from this story and it showed me that right is greater than wrong.

Since three people have already saved the bible from extinction I would choose one of the classic childrens books, such as The Three Little Pigs, Little Red Riding Hood, Robin Hood, or Charlotte's Web. These books are very important to young children, and teach us valuable lessons about life. They also help teach some children how to read. The book I would choose to memorize would be the very first book I ever learned to read: Brown Bear Brown Bear What Do You See? I remember reading this book several times a day. It was my favorite book, and am sure that it will be the favorite of more young children in the future.(if I can memorize it)

I didn't think about it, but what Randal said is actually very good. "Hatchet" is a book that teaches you an awesome life lesson. It teaches you not to give up even though your in a period of hardship. You have to continue living life and trying to get yourself out of your problems and the boy in "Hatchet" fought until he made it through.

I would have to choose the book Twilight. Most people here have chosen the Bible and while that's a great book and everything. I don't think it's the words themselves that matter, but the understanding that they give us. I also don't think we should rely on those words so much, but instead we should rely on our relationships with the big man upstairs to guide us. So I would have to choose a book called Twilight. It's got your average werewolves and vampires. Not to mention the traumatic love of a moralistic vampire to a rather clumsy human. To me, it shows the power of the heart, the ONLY redeeming quality I've witnessed of mankind. It makes my heart leap when she almost dies, and melts when he saves her by conquering his own hunger for her blood. Now that, Holmes, is a REALLY cool love story.

I agree with a certain Mister Josh R. cuz To Kill A Mockingbird is a really good book. The speech when Atticus defends Tom Robinson is absolutely revolutionary. I gotta say, (sorry, don't remember author's name), whoever wrote that book knew what they were doing.
