Quality news is important for citizens of America. I see quality news as good and accurate. False news could change the outcome of a situation. It can change someones vote or the safety of someone. It can tell you what is good for your health and the nutrition you should be assuming. It is good to know about things going on across the world and quality news can present that to us. Qualtiy news can also give us accurate weather reports a week in advance. The purpose of news to me is to present the public with knowledg of things in your county, country, and the world around you. The news is important for society today. News is supposed to bring you the latest updateds and show you different ways to help with health conditions, as well as give you a good weather report. News can help you make desicions about your day to day process. I thing live coverage is the highest quality source, because it helps you see what is going on in a certain place aroung you. Such as car wrecks or bad weather, something that my make you take a different route to where ever you need to be. Live coverage can show you things that are happening in different parts of the world like wars. News is a very important thing for societies daily process and helps us learn about worldwide things.

The responsibilty of the news media is to gather all sides of the stories. And the news shouldn't be about some trivial gossip. It should be about the problems we face as Americans, the problems other countries face, so we are aware. It should show us the way the world is, not the way we edit it to be. The truth, any and all versions of it so we can get an idea of our version, of what we think the truth is. It is important to get "quality" news because if we are supposed to be the country of the "free" we should know all aspects of what preserves our freedom and what we can do to further that freedom. The highest quality source of news doesn't exist. Yes there are some more reliable news channels and magazines and papers than others but none rise above the rest. We must listen and read as much as we can and piece together from all the sources what is the truth and what is the fabrication. I definitely don't think all news sources are reliable. In fact many of them are full of it, but i do think that if we, as human beings, pay attention to ALL of it we should be able to come to our own conclusion. After that conclusion is made we should do something to further it. We should vote, petition do what we can to change what we're not satisfied with. Granted, today's world doesn't have the best politics, and I swear sometimes it's as if the government ignores our shouts, but eventually we will change. That's the thing about America. It CHANGES and grows, and our representation of it is in our news. So I encourage others to find their own truth within what we are presented with.

Frankly Josh, I think your view is rather naieve. It almost appears that you blindly trust everything that is put before you. I think you should look to awider range of news and also concentrate on the fact that news isn't all about the weather as you mention a lot. In fact, you caould ask any good farmer if it's gonna rain without any news channel. The Earth itself warns you beforehand, but many have forgotten how to read the signs and rely instead on the Weather Channel, which many times proves false. You should also think a little more about what's going on in the world and incorporate that into your replies.

This assignment to me looks like your supposed to address more than the weather and how it's reliable. Faran's however sounds like she actually had feeling going into this report and i rather liked it because she went for what she beleived in and you wrote like you have no feelings on the subject. It is important to get quality news so that you know what's going on in the world. If you don't get the right news or don't hear the whole story it can cause people to react wrongly and do something they shouldn't do. The purpose of news is to inform everyone about what is going on in the world around them or warn them of something that is happening in their town, state, country, or anywhere in the world. It is important for news channels to present the truth so that people can believe what imformation is provided, which may not always be the case. The purpose of the news is to convey hopefully truthfull imformation to the public so that they may be further aware of their area, state, country, and world. News also contributes weather predictions for days ahead and is usually helpful in preparing people for severe weather and helping keep people safe. The news has many purposes. It tells what happens in the U.S. on short and sometimes even what happens in other countries of the world, it gives us our weather, criminals on the run and other things as such. In my opinion I think the news purpose is to inform us with as much information about the world. Now that they're doing a good job I think not, we get a lot of useless information from them instead of getting information that we could use to make the world a better place. Sometimes all the news brings out is the good and not the bad. When its responsibility is to try and help us make this world a better place by informing us with the good and the bad. It's supposed to let us know everything not just bits and pieces of what is happening today. There is no where where you can get the highest quality of news, you will have to research as much as you can in order to find out top quality information. No one source gives you all information, but some have other things the others don't. Sometimes they even give you wrong information, I myself have experienced this with the news stations. But, if you really had to choose just one I would say the internet would be a good choice to find quality information, my experience with them it was a good one, most information was right, not all but most.(Just be careful when on the web.) The reason I choose the internt is because it has information from everywhere and they "investigate" around to get what they have. It's pretty accurate.

Quality news is an important part of our daily lives. Without news we would not know what was going on in the world at the certain time. If someone or something had given us false information about something it would change our opinion from what it should have been to what it is. The overall purpose of news is to inform the viewers, listeners, or readers of what is happening in our world today. The highest quality of news is to be there when it happened. That way you have your own opinion of it. No one can change what you just witnessed.

The news is a wealth of information, whose job is to inform the people. Without quality news we would hardly know what's going on in our world, but not all news can be trusted. In my eyes the highest quality of news is accurate news from a source that you can trust. That for me, is a newspaper. I trust the newspaper to deliver accurate news, even if it is slow. I also trust them to correct themselves when they are wrong. That doesn't mean that a newspaper is right for everyone. If you trust the local news, then it is right for you. If you have to see things happen in real time to trust them, then live coverage is the highest quality for you. The highest quality of news, in my opinion, depends on who you trust.
